Cut steel jewelry, buttons & buckles became popular in France in 1760’s & continued to be made until the late 1800’s. The cuts on each steel rivet catch the light & the pattern is delicate and striking! The overall color reads as a darker silver or pewter, but there are also flashes of bronze & copper colors.
