In the early 1960’s they called this a faux cameo but to my eye it is actually painted porcelain. I have repurposed this sweet piece from a brooch into a necklace. I’ve added some baubles and a gorgeous vintage gold tone chain for this elegant statement necklace!

These cut steel buttons were made from late 1700’s thru early 1800’s by riveting small steel pieces onto a brass backing. Originally they were thought of as a substitute for diamonds and marcasite. They must have sparkled in the candlelight of an evening gathering! I have left the shank on the back to preserve their collectibility.

China Buttons were manufactured from 1918’s to 1930’s, in France, Germany & Austria. They were utilitarian in use but the bright colors and patterns also made them decorative. The black color stenciled on these buttons is so striking…wearable history!
This sweet flying celluloid bird pin, Circa 1930’s-1940’s, was the centerpiece of this design. I mounted this figural pin on a vintage pastel shoe clip, added a vintage flower brooch and a WONDERFUL vintage pink celluloid chain to complete this charming necklace. A sweet tweet!
