This Ivoroid button is a favorite from my vault. It is a celluloid button from late 1800’s. They were made to imitate ivory so most celluloid buttons from this time period fell under the label of “Ivoroid”. The other button is open work metal & also from the late 1800’s. I have set the shank of the Ivoroid inside another button so it will lay flat when worn, while still preserving the integrity of the buttons…i.e. “no harm” button jewelry!
